Media Director

The self service media team within AUC promotes our clients’ brands on Amazon and other eCommerce platforms by driving discoverability, traffic, and conversion through campaigns. Our team of experienced campaign managers have an impressive track record for success and manage large annual advertising spend for our clients who are prominently in the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) space. We work with all of them to help execute Media advertising across multiple RMN (Retail Media Networks).

Our growing team is seeking a passionate digital marketing expert to join our team as Media Director to support enterprise clients. The MD is a strategic business partner and advisor for all things Media to our clients. The MD is a solution-oriented media guru, always thinking about their business, anticipating issues, and implementing their vision to produce superior results. The MD serves as the people manager for a team of Senior Media Managers, providing coaching and general support to aid in their leadership of Media Managers and Media Coordinators.

The Role:

  • Manage a team of Senior Media Managers and provide coaching, training, career development, resource allocation, and prioritization within their pod. Provide guidance regarding specific tasks and inquiries from team members.

  • Ownership of media strategy, tactical paid search and display execution, and reporting for an enterprise-level client across the retail media network – Amazon, Walmart, Instacart, and more online grocery retailers

  • Deliver high customer service level through accountability and collaboration with our internal stakeholders, partners within the organization, and the client

  • Navigate complex enterprise systems to coordinate internal and client stakeholders for time-sensitive key decision-making

  • Oversee follow-up items and ensure deadlines for deliverables and projects are met with high-quality work

  • Oversee scope of work and identify resource needs to deliver on project plans

  • Oversee leadership initiatives across the organization, focusing on the advancement of our service capabilities and driving innovative strategy to our clients.

  • Attend all media-related calls and virtual client meetings to ensure visibility into all media activity. Actively engaging in company culture and leadership, driving a fun, positive, virtual work environment that is scalable, collaborative, and results-oriented

Must Have:

  • 3-5 years search and/or display experience across on Amazon (Walmart, Instacart, Kroger, Roundel and more RMNs a big plus)

  • Media agency experience preferred, including with clients of varying budgets, sophistication & product categories, preferably enterprise-level clients

  • Comfortable leading a team of 3-5 Managers overseeing a team of 20-25

  • Comfortable with large data sets and analytics

  • Motivated self-starter with a passion for digital marketing and a desire to learn more in the space

  • Product experience - particularly CPG

  • Proven track record for delivering results and rising to overcome challenges, both known and unforeseen

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.

  • Assume responsibility for the growth and vitality of the company’s media practice and of your clients’ business.

  • Develop and/or approve direction of RFPs that lead publishers in devising innovative approaches to meeting campaign objectives and delivering value.

  • Ensure accurate record keeping and finances on all accounts.

  • Work with cross-functional departments to ensure flawless execution.

  • Review final reconciliation of campaign and authorize client refunds if appropriate.

  • Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports

  • May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

  • Travel is an essential duty and function of this job. Driving is not an essential duty or function of this job.

  • Travel up to 30%

Minimum Qualifications

The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree

Field of Study/Area of Experience:

8+ years of experience in Media at an agency

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of both awareness and performance digital media channels and strategies, including display, mobile, video, paid search, programmatic and social media

  • Previous success in the planning, development and management of digital media campaigns for brands or products

  • Experience with DoubleClick and other 3rd party tracking solutions preferred

  • Experience with the following technology platforms preferred (Self-Serve Programmatic DSPs, DFA, Facebook UI/FBX)

  • Ability to analyze data and deeply understanding of measurement practices, 3rd party measurement companies and web analytics

  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines while juggling multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proven client service orientation with strong written and verbal communication skills, including effective presentation skills

  • Ability to consistently perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment as an individual on a team

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills

  • Demonstrated interest in keeping up with emerging technologies and digital marketing trends

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
