Responsibilities:

  • Manage designated Employee Relations team members to include staffing, hiring, workload management, work product review, training, coaching, engagement, growth and development, counseling, disciplinary action, and terminations, in collaboration with and subject to the approval of Employee Relations Director as needed.

  • Manage various Employee Relations functions including identification of opportunities for efficiency and process improvement.

  • Continuously assess, anticipate and address HR / Employee Relations needs.

  • Develop strategies for resolving employee problems and counseling direct reports on implementation.

  • Conduct complex and/or sensitive workplace investigations (involving matters of ethics, policy, or law).

  • Provide strategic employee relations consultation to assigned business units or as requested by Employee Relations or other HR leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources or Behavioral Science orequivalent job-related experience

  • 5+ years of experience in applicable field

  • 3+ years supervising a team

  • SPHR or PHR certification preferred

  • Expert knowledge of employment laws and employee relations strategy and best practices

  • Exceptional people management, leadership, and team-building skills

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Manager Associate Relations is responsible for managing members of the Employee Relations Team and aspects of the Employee Relations function to help ensure that strategic and tactical employee relations consultation, resolution and associated processes and initiatives are developed and executed in compliance with company policy, ethical and legal obligations and that relevant administrative processes are established and executed to support the Associate Relations team.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Employee Relations Leadership

  • Manage designated Associate Relations team members to include staffing, hiring, workload management, work product review, training, coaching, engagement, growth and development, counseling, disciplinary action, and terminations, in collaboration with and subject to approval of Associate Relations Director as needed.

  • Manage various Associate Relations functions including identification of opportunities for efficiency and process improvement; development of team policies and standard operations procedures; and evaluation and recommendations as to strategic direction of Associate Relations in collaboration and subject to approval of Associate Relations Director as needed.

  • Continuously assess, anticipate and address HR / Associate Relations needs

  • Develop strategies for resolving employee problems and counseling direct reports on implementation

Employee Relations

  • Conduct complex and/or sensitive workplace investigations (involving matters of ethics, policy, or law) reported through Company’s Ethics Line or other channel to help ensure prompt and effective resolution in accordance with the company’s goal of acting with integrity and in compliance with Companys Code of Business Conduct and Ethics (the “Code”), Company’s ’s policies, and legal obligations.

  • Provide strategic employee relations consultation to assigned business units or as requested by Employee Relations or other HR leadership, regarding, for example, associate engagement, development, and retention; corrective action; associate disputes; matters of Company or division policy; position eliminations, reductions in force, or other restructuring; and enterprise or division-wide associate-related initiatives. Such consultation shall be provided in a manner that balances business needs, associate interests, and legal compliance.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct Reports

  • Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports

  • May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

  • Travel and Driving are not essential duties or functions of this job

Some business travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Human Resources, Behavioral Sciences or equivalent job-related experience

  • 5+ years of experience in applicable field

  • 3+ years supervising a team

  • SPHR or PHR certification preferred

• Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
