JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support qualitative and quantitative shopper research projects under the direction of a senior researcher. This will include operating in the role of project manager, moderator in-training, survey writer, note-taker, data analyst and storyteller.

  • Eventually lead small-scope projects from start to finish as skills and confidence develops.

  • Own the execution of Guest Quest’s review seeding program which includes activities like: communication with clients, recruiting, screening & communicating with participants, tracking shipments,troubleshooting, and recappingevents for clients.

  • Develop an expertise in social listening utilizing a variety of social intelligence tools. Prior experience in social listening is not required, but general curiosity about the insights that can be gained from consumer chatter on the internet is required.

  • Analyze and interpret research data including quantitative survey data qualitative interview data.

  • Note-takers for qualitative interviews and create an easy to analyze format for report writing.

  • Develop stories founded on data and relevant action oriented insights for our clients in a concise and clear manner.

  • Effectively manage planning and execution logistics for Guest Room and other qualitative research. This will include coordinating with 3rd party recruitment firms, recruiting, screening & scheduling participants, coordinating pre-interview activities and managing day of logistics.

Position Summary

The Sr. Manager Market Research oversees market research team and efforts implemented to monitoring market conditions in local, regional or national markets for potential sales growth opportunities for clients, customers and/or the Company. In addition, designs, conducts research, and establishes methodology for market research projects.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Market Research

  • Determine purpose and research questions to be answered through market research by communicating with client management teams

  • Create scope of work to be communicated to client management teams detailing the resources currently available and those needed to obtain through primary research

  • Build out Research Ethnograph Shop A Longs

  • Collect and analyze secondary data sources to create and/or answer market research and business objectives

  • Develop methodology, create surveys and administer the survey to the sample.

  • Work with sample or staffing company to ensure the survey is administered properly

  • Provide training to staff to ensure that surveys are distributed and given as instructed

  • Present market research findings in written and/or oral reports to client management teams

Manage Direct Reports

  • Manage workload of direct reports to ensure client satisfaction

  • Manage, train and mentor staff to help them achieve professional objectives

  • Create best-in-class practices for staff to follow

Project/Client Management and Support

  • Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans, and conferring with management

  • Manage project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems

  • Define major business opportunities by prioritizing information to support the goals of our Clients, Customers, and Company

  • Manage, build and maintain ongoing strategic and collaborative relationships and category management activities

Data Collection

  • Provide information for Clients, Customers, and Business Development Managers through the use of syndicated or customer-specific data sources

  • Meet specific needs of requesting party by determining appropriate data selection and custom assortment

Data Analysis/Interpretation/Application

  • Determine and quantify primary business opportunities and key drivers by analyzing data

  • Support key business opportunities by recommending solutions based on applicable data

  • Define major business opportunities by prioritizing information to support the goals of our Clients, Customers, and Company

Presentation Development

  • Finalize all data and organizing sales story for presentation to Clients, Customers and/or Business Development Manager

  • Recommend strategic direction based off collaboration with senior client management teams

Presentation Delivery

  • Communicate business opportunities and recommend action plans by working with Clients, Customers, Sr. Managers and/or Business Development Managers

  • Assist Directors and Business Development Managers where appropriate by participating in the presentation of the analysis and recommendations

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct Reports

Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports

May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience: business or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in applicable field (i.e. sales and marketing agency, Customer, and/or Client)

  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience

  • Market Research Certification from accredited program
