Responsible for the overall architecture, design, development, maintenance, enhancement, utilization and support of the hardware and software for structuring, organizing, storing, retrieving, analyzing, and reporting strategic enterprise information and operational and production data. This includes data for Decision Support, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Meta-data Repositories, and Operational Data Stores. The Director of Business Intelligence works collaboratively with key process owners to identify opportunities for business intelligence to improve organizational performance and provides leadership, vision, and direction for data warehouse, MDM and Data Quality systems in support of the enterprise’s business objectives and requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Ultimate responsibility for the functional and technical design of BI solutions, including user interfaces, data architecture, and processing.

  • Partners with business and IT leadership to understand the company’s operational strategy and facilitate its delivery through reporting on and analyzing key processes and metrics.

  • Drives the development of enterprise reporting, analytics and metrics standards to ensure the business understands its own performance.

  • Oversees project and program management for business intelligence activities across the various function deliverables.

  • Collaborates with business owners and analysts to research, identify and deliver solutions.

  • Stays current in new BI technologies and platforms; identifies emerging solutions to be assimilated, integrated and introduced within the enterprise; drives innovation and creative solutions to business challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degreeor equivalent experiencerequired;MBA Degree or equivalent experiencepreferred; Experience inAnalytics, Informatics, Computer Science, Programming or Business Administration

  • 12+ years of related hands-on experience in business intelligence solutions and implementations;

  • Experience in managing and mentoring business intelligence and data warehouse development teams.

  • At least 10 years of complete project lifecycle experience with at least 2 major data warehouse/ business intelligence projects completed.

  • 3+ years of leadership responsibilities in a related industry managing and working in multiple, large, cross-functional teams or on projects that deliver meaningful insights to internal and external business constituents

  • Ability to Visualize & Plan Objectives & Goals Strategically

Job Duty

Business/Functional Results

  • Ultimate responsibility for functional and technical design of BI solutions, including user interfaces, data architecture and processing.

  • Recommends business intelligence technology platforms and solutions where necessary.

  • Responsible for the design, development, maintenance and utilization of processes in conjunction with the enhancement, training and support of the reporting of strategic enterprise information and operational/production data.

  • Partners with business and IT leadership to understand the company’s operational strategy and facilitate its delivery through reporting on and analyzing key processes and metrics

  • Drives the development of enterprise reporting, analytics and metrics standards to ensure the business understands its own performance

Managing Execution

  • Oversees project and program management for business intelligence activities across the various function deliverables.

  • Is involved in Business Intelligence development efforts.

  • Proactively communicates with all stakeholders in regards to project management status and deliverables.

  • Collaborates with business owners and analysts to research, identify and deliver solutions.

  • Stays current in new BI technologies and platforms; identifies emerging solutions to be assimilated, integrated and introduced within the enterprise; drives innovation and creative solutions to business challenges

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct Reports

  • Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports

  • May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Minimum Qualifications

The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

(Preferred): Master's Degree Or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Analytics, Informatics, Computer Science, Programming or Business Administration

  • 12+ years of related hands-on experience in business intelligence solutions and implementations;

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
