Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Account Manager

Adlucent is looking for a Digital Marketing (SEM) Sr. Account Manager to help drive the success of our clients' paid search advertising campaigns. The Sr. Account Manager works on one or more Adlucent client accounts and is responsible for the development and execution of strategy, prioritization of tasks, and achievement of performance goals. They have an in-depth understanding of paid search tactics and techniques and implement best practices to achieve the client’s performance goals. The Sr. Account Manager employs standard online media metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure results through data analysis and optimization.

The Sr. Account Manager collaborates with both the client and internal Client Services team to determine quarterly account performance goals and measurements as well as determining account activities. They conduct ongoing account optimization and testing to achieve these goals, providing regular reporting and analysis to both the client and the internal team. The Sr. Account Manager researches and identifies opportunities for incremental revenue and efficiencies.

The Sr. Account Manager may have one or more team members on their account to execute on account activities, whom the Account Manager will mentor and train.

The Role:

  • Responsible for all aspects of managing a client’s paid search program using Adlucent’s proprietary Deep Search™ software in addition to Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and/or SA360.

  • Strong understanding of paid search trends, from recent updates and announcements to knowledge of the levers available for effecting change for an account

  • Conduct ongoing analysis of campaigns; manage and optimize to meet client and internal performance goals. Independently troubleshoot account & technical issues to ensure that campaigns are maximizing performance.

  • Partner with client and internal team members to define, drive and execute effective optimization strategies and testing schemes designed to improve campaign KPIs.

  • Maintain strong communication with agency clients and internal team members to keep everyone informed of campaign status, scope or timeline changes and manage client expectations.

  • Properly monitor campaign performance against client’s objectives, making optimization recommendations as necessary.

  • Help run weekly internal meetings to update on account performance, team activities and results, and any roadblocks; work with the Senior Account Manager and Account Supervisor to prioritize tasks and troubleshoot issues.

  • Run weekly client calls to update clients on performance and activities and provide insights around the account and the client’s business.

  • Work with the Account Supervisor & account team on semi-annual/quarterly strategic business reviews with the client to discuss industry insights, account performance, and strategic opportunities and ideas. Lead portions of this presentation.

Additionally, you have:

  • 2-3 years of experience in Search Engine Marketing, specifically managing PPC programs on Google Ads and Microsoft Ads

  • Worked directly with Shopping Ads and/or Performance Max Campaigns and retail-focused clients

  • Strong track record of continuous positive account performance and achieving performance goals for customers

  • An iterative approach to campaign performance testing

  • Ability to communicate complex data with clarity and simplicity

  • Self-motivated, intellectually curious, flexible, ambitious, and a quick learner; able to operate independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Proven ability to multitask & work under pressure and build ongoing relationships

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Solid communication, writing, and presentation skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office Suite & Google Workspace tools

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience managing programmatic/display, and/or retail media campaigns

  • Experience using SA360 and/or DV360

  • Interest in technology-based solutions as they relate to digital marketing

  • Strong technical skills around website analytics tools, URLs (structure, parameters, encoding), Javascript, and HTML

  • Experience with managing and editing product feeds

Position Summary

The Sr Account Manager as a business partner is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with teams and clients. The Sr AM will be the liaison, acting as a point of contact and will help provide solutions, training and project management to help deliver outstanding results. The Sr AM must have the ability to work independently as part of a team in a fast-paced dynamic environment and be able to make decisions and meet stringent deadlines.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaison - Work closely with client and management as the primary point of contact to ensure appropriate communication is delivered in an accurate, timely and consistent manner.

  • Troubleshooting –Ensure all issues are properly escalated to the appropriate department. Provide feedback to and consult with the team and/or Client when needed regarding changes that need to be made.

  • Training and Education – Assesses and addresses training needs regarding existing and new software functionality.

  • System Platform and Configuration – Participate in new software release testing and validate the accuracy of the database after each enhancement release.

  • Project management: Act as a project manager on behalf of the client/team by leading the project from conception to completion.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a client-facing/customer service role

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Process oriented/strong follow-up/ highly organized approach to managing/prioritizing tasks and day-to-day activity

  • Independent self-starter

  • Very strong communication and leadership skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and clients

  • Comfortable and conversant with technology- very familiar with IPad, smartphones etc.

  • Project management of small to medium size project plans

  • Comfortable training or presenting in front of groups of people

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel (Formulas, Pivot Tables, Templates)

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Power Point)

  • MS Access knowledge a plus
