Summary

Demand and Procurement Planner

The Demand and Procurement Planner manages procurement functions, including forecasting, budget management, and order procurement. This role ensures the effective planning and execution of procurement activities to align with and support organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

The Company is one of North America’s leading sales and marketing agencies specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management and marketing services to manufacturers, suppliers and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods. The Company services a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics and home centers. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Fulfillment

• Formulate fulfillment strategies and provide guidance and direction to VP of Client Services in determining inventory needs of the field execution strategy.

• Prepare and produce inventory forecasts based on projected work volumes

• Develop requirements and workflows

Sourcing and Procurement

• Solicit, negotiate, and analyze bids from national, regional, and local vendors to secure most favorable quality, innovation, pricing, shipping, and scheduling in alignment with business strategy.

• Submit quotations for customer pricing and internal budgets

• Work with management, Client Services, and Field Execution to proactively manage projects to budget and identify unique areas for savings

• Create purchase orders for procured items

Optimization

• Work closely with business leaders (i.e., Client Services, Operations, Field Execution, etc.) to maximize processes.

• Identify gaps and best practices in planning operations and propose improvements for overall performance

Warehousing

• Provide oversight and support for all inventory management and maintenance requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports

Indirect Reports

  • May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Preferred): Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in related field

• Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically

• Analytical and financial/costing skills necessary to manage planning and budgeting

• Product/Vendor evaluation, contract negotiations and implementation

• Works cooperatively with others toward common group objectives, demonstrates respect for the ideas and contributions of other team members, cultivates positive relationships with other associates, and provides assistance and support to others

• Forecasts, sets objectives, anticipates, structures tasks, and establishes priorities

• Accurately scopes out length and difficulty of tasks and projects; sets objectives and goals; breaks down work into the process steps; develops schedules and task/people assignments; anticipates and adjusts for problems and roadblocks; measures performance against goals; evaluates results

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
